Dr Robert Haolong Zhao PhD; M.Sc.(Chinese Medicine)   

Dr Zhao is a highly qualified and skilled Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Practitioner with over 25 years of clinical experience, working in hospitals in China for 16 years and in private practice in Australia for 12 years. His extensive training and experience mean that he takes a comprehensive approach to patient care, applying his medical knowledge within a holistic Chinese medicine framework to achieve excellent patient results.

Dr Zhao commenced his studies in 1988, initially studying a combined degree in Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine at the DaTong College of Medicine in China. After commencing practice as a resident doctor in the Pneumology Department at DaTong Institute Hospital, he undertook his Master’s Degree in Chinese Medicine, which he completed in 1998. Dr Haolong then commenced a PhD at Shanghai University, where he researched the effect of Chinese Medicine to assist Lipitor to improve vascular endothelial health. He was awarded his Doctorate in Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2002, and he went on to practice as the Attending Physician in the Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Department at Tongji University Hospital, before immigrating to Australia in 2008. Since arriving in Australia, Dr Zhao has been practising in private practice, as well as being a senior lecturer in Chinese Medicine at Endeavour College of Natural Health in Perth.

Dr Zhao is registered as a Chinese Medicine practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is registered with all major health funds, enabling his patients to claim private insurance rebates on consultations. He is also a professional member of the Australian Traditional Medicine Society (ATMS) and the Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture Society of Australia (CMASA).

Dr Zhao’s has a keen interest in the following health conditions:

Dr Fern T.S. Kang


With a deep interest in Traditional Chinese Medicine and a great passion for human health, Fern Kang entered the TCM field and completed a Bachelor degree in Health Science Acupuncture at Endeavour College of Natural Health in Perth. She has spent much time in Guang Xi Traditional Chinese Medicine University China and later Guang Zhou University of Chinese Medicine China,  furthering her studies and training, and has gained exceptional clinical experience as a traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner.

She is a friendly and empathetic practitioner, has a thorough and caring approach to her client. Giving back to the client’s health is her passion.

Fern Kang has a great interest in women’s health; including menopausal symptoms, menstruation disorder, hormonal problems and infertility issues. She also has vast experience in treating Musculoskeletal problems; mental health, including depression, anxiety and stress, insomnia; digestive disorders; headache and migraines. Fern is a member of the Australia Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association (AACMA). 

Dr Xia Ding


Xia is a registered nurse and acupuncturist. She graduated from Endeavour College of Natural Health with a degree in Chinese Medicine Acupuncture and she also has extended acupuncture training in a Chinese hospital. She believes in the integration of Western Medicine and Chinese medicine for optimal health care. When not providing Traditional Chinese Medicine for her clients, Xia provides clinical patient care at Fremantle Hospital.

She has broad experience in caring for patients in haematology and oncology, general medical and surgical, emergency care and rehabilitation as a registered nurse for the past 25years. She is interested in treating musculoskeletal conditions, chronic pain and fatigue, postherpetic neuralgia, stress and anxiety, gastric complaints, menstruation issues, hayfever and sinusitis, wound and scar healing, auxiliary treatment for chemotherapy, and boosting a weak immune system.  Overall Xia is influenced by traditional and philosophical methods of healing. 

Xia speaks Chinese Mandarin and English.

Dr Sang Tan

Sang’s areas of interest include pain management, dietary and musculoskeletal disorders due to many years of training competitively in badminton, marathon running and triathlon. Additionally Sang has 15 years experience specialising in mental disorders as a Registered Nurse so has a keen interest in the treatment of stress, anxiety, depression and insomnia.

Sang is a member of the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (AACMA) and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). His qualifications include a Bachelor of Health Science (Acupuncture) and a Bachelor of Nursing.

Sang believes that Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) complements Western Medicine in a holistic approach to building optimal health and wellbeing. TCM is recognised by the World Health Organisation, it is based on the concept of “qi”, vital energy that flows along the meridians in the body ensuring good health.

Sang is multilingual and speaks Malay, Cantonese, Teochew and Hokkien dialects.
